General Questions[edit | edit source]

Can I play ECO single player?[edit | edit source]

To play ECO single player, download and run the Server and wait a minute or two to finish initializing. Then you run the Client and connect to 'localhost' with port 3001

If you have issues with that, you can check this thread for more information. https://www.reddit.com/r/ECOGlobalSurvival/comments/3u1aah/how_to_setup_server_singleplayer_and_multiplayer/

Which server do I play on?[edit | edit source]

ECO servers are hosted by players. Since Alpha 4 the game includes a server browser. From here you can join several servers, including public servers set up by the community.

Do I have to pay to play?[edit | edit source]

You have to purchase the game from here http://www.strangeloopgames.com/ECO/

Why should I pay $40?[edit | edit source]

Fair question. We're charging $40 because we want alpha to be limited to dedicated backers at this point, people who want to be involved in development and see it through to the end, and have their feedback influence the game. As for running out of money, we have a grant being paid in milestones over the next 18 months, so we're solid there: http://ies.ed.gov/funding/grantsearch/details.asp?ID=1600
