Welcome to the ECO Wiki!
ECO is an online world from Strange Loop Games where players must build civilization using resources from an ecosystem that can be damaged and destroyed. The world of ECO is an incredibly reactive one, and whatever any player does in the world affects the underlying ecosystem.
ECO is currently in the alpha stage of development. The beta release is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2018 on Steam. The game will be priced at $30 USD, according to Strange Loop Games. Players who have purchased the game before Feb. 6 (for the Alpha price of $40 USD), will receive a Steam key as well as in-game Alpha Rewards.
How to Play
ECO Alpha is "pay-to-play". Alpha access must be purchased at Strange Loop Games' website.

Finding A Server
ECO must be played on a server. Once you download and launch the ECO client, you will need to choose a server to join. Since ECO has a strong focus on cooperation, it's a good idea to find a popular server with an active community. The ECO alpha features a server browser, so you can easily try different servers. Strange Loop Games also hosts its own public server, which is sometimes used by the developers for testing.
Use the following community resources to meet fellow ECO players and find a group to play with:
ECO can also be played solo on your own local network. Download and run the server (available in the same place as the client download), and your computer will show up on the in-game server browser.
Want to host your own public server? Check out the guide to Setting up a server.
